Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Salat Tracker handles information when you use the mobile app and related services. Our goal is to keep the app useful while collecting only what is needed.
Information We Collect
Account information
If you create an account, we collect your email address, password hash, account identifier, and optional display name so you can sign in and sync data across devices. We never store your password in plain text.
Prayer tracking and Qada data
If sync is enabled, completed prayers, prayer dates, and Qada balances may be stored on our servers and linked to your account. Because this information can relate to religious practice, we treat it as sensitive and use it only to provide app functionality.
Quran reading data
If you use Quran features, downloaded Quran packs are stored locally on your device for offline reading. If you sign in and sync Quran features, your selected script and translation, last-read ayah, and bookmarks may be stored on our servers and linked to your account. We treat this as sensitive religious activity data and use it only to provide Quran reading, offline access, bookmarks, and sync.
Location and preferences
The app may use foreground location to calculate prayer times. If you save locations or sync preferences, the selected coordinates, labels, language, theme, alarm preferences, and similar settings may be associated with your account.
How We Use Information
- To authenticate your account and keep your session secure.
- To sync prayer tracking, Qada balances, saved locations, and preferences.
- To sync Quran preferences, reading progress, and bookmarks if you are signed in.
- To calculate prayer times and show relevant app content.
- To respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.
Third-Party Services
Salat Tracker calculates prayer times locally on your device using the location, timezone, and calculation settings you choose. We do not send prayer time calculation requests to our backend or to a third-party prayer time provider. Quran content is downloaded directly by the mobile app from islamic.app when you choose a Quran resource. The app and service may still rely on third-party services for hosting, app updates, diagnostics, reverse geocoding, or infrastructure. These services may process technical data such as IP address, request metadata, or coordinates needed for the requested feature.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS in production. Passwords are hashed. Access tokens are used for authenticated API requests. We limit stored data to the app features users choose to use.
Data Retention and Deletion
Account-linked data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion from inside the app or through the external deletion page. When an account is deleted, associated prayer entries, Qada balances, saved locations, preferences, Quran reading progress, Quran bookmarks, Quran preferences, and access tokens are deleted unless we must retain limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or compliance reasons.

Children's Privacy
Salat Tracker is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
